HAIRBALL +

To avoid hairball formation

Complementary feed, with a very pleasant flavor, to prevent the formation of hairballs and, thanks to its slightly laxative properties, it also helps to speed up intestinal transit in cats and dogs. It is enriched with omega-3, omega-6 fatty acids and taurine, to support their metabolism and achieve stronger and shinier coat and thus prevent hair loss.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

INDICATIONS

Helps regulate the digestive system, preventing the formation of hairballs and promoting their elimination.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Its use is not recommended in case of:

  • Malabsorption syndrome, as it can interfere with the digestion and absorption processes of nutrients.

  • Diarrhea or poor fecal quality, due to its slight laxative effect.

  • Animals with suspected intestinal obstruction, paralytic ileus or intestinal perforation that may put the animal’s life at risk and may require surgical intervention.”

1

Regular brushing, especially in long-haired cats
that are in the shedding season.

2

Provide environmental enrichment, to reduce the
animal’s stress and, consequently, reduce
grooming time. This is especially important
in cats that have limited outdoor access.

3

Monitor if the animal suffers from any type of skin
disease, as this may increase licking and chewing
of the affected area (in case of pruritic skin
disease, flea infestation and/or food allergy).

recommended to replace the usual food
with a diet rich in carbohydrates and low
in protein, at least temporarily.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

  • Lubricant: Facilitates the passage of hair and the enventual passage of
hairballs through the gastrointestinal tract, promoting their safe elimination via the fecal route, thus avoiding possible intestinal obstructions.
  • Improves digestion: Contains natural enzymes that help break down food
and ingested hair, reducing the formation of hairballs.
  • Improves intestinal transit: Being soluble fiber, it increases the volume and water retention of the intestinal content, which improves intestinal movement (laxative effect), promoting the expulsion of ingested hair and,
therefore, reducing the probability of hairball formation and helps prevent
    constipation.
  • Produces short-chain fatty acids: Its fermentation by intestinal bacteria produces short-chain fatty acids (SCFA) such as butyrate, acetate, and propionate. These SCFA are important for intestinal health, as they provide
energy to colon cells and have anti-inflammatory properties.

Characterized by its high content of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA); a fatty acid from the omega-6 family.

  • Improves hair quality: It is beneficial for the health of the scalp, relieving dryness and flaking, promoting healthy hair growth (soft and shiny) and stopping hair loss. This reduces the amount of hair ingested during grooming and, therefore, reduces the likelihood of hairballs formation in the stomach.
  • Anti-inflammatory: GLA has powerful anti-inflammatory e]ects, due to its conversion into anti-inflammatory prostaglandins (PGE1), which help reduce inflammation in the skin. This is e]ective in reducing irritation and scratching, which also decreases the amount of hair ingested and therefore reduces the likelihood of hairball formation in the stomach.
  • Lubricant: Facilitates the passage of hair and the eventual passage of
hairballs through the gastrointestinal tract, promoting their safe elimination via the fecal route, thus avoiding possible intestinal obstructions.

Source rich in omega-3 fatty acids (specifically EPA and DHA).

  • Anti-inflammatory: Omega-3 fatty acids modulate the production of proinflammatory cytokines and eicosanoids and are the precursors of resolvins and protectins, counterregulatory substances of inflammation that serve as agonists of endogenous anti-inflammatory mechanisms and act significantly in the resolution of inflammation in cases of dermatitis. This is effective in reducing irritation and scratching, which also decreases the amount of hair ingested and, therefore, reduces the likelihood of hairball formation in the stomach.

Essential amino acid for cats, which means that they must obtain it
from their diet since they cannot synthesize it in sufficient quantities on their own.

  • Cardiovascular health: Is essential for the health of the heart and circulatory system. Its deficiency is related to dilated cardiomyopathy problems.
  • Eye health: It is crucial for the maintenance of the retina and vision, and helps prevent diseases such as macular degeneration and night blindness.
  • Digestive health: Necessary for the synthesis of bile salts in the liver, which are essential for the absorption of fats.
